My Life in a Few Short Paragraphs
Grew up in Carlisle, PA, about 20 minutes south of Harrisburg. Graduated from Carlisle High School in 1995, and went to Grove City College in northwest PA. Graduated from there in 1999 with an English Degree. (Yeah, way to plan ahead.) I moved to Charleston, SC, and took a job as a Computer Software Customer Support Analyst with Blackbaud, Inc, or as I like to call it, the Evil Empire. It was a great place to work for a little while, but then the company was bought out, and we all became your average overworked, high stress, underappreciated drone. I was set free from there in February of 2002, and spent the rest of 2002 trying my hand at laying hardwood floors and tile and selling cars. Both are interesting experiences to have, but I wouldn't really recommend them to anyone sane. I have finally landed a job that I love...I work for the College of Charleston's Office of Institutional Advancement, where I work on the software that I used to support for Blackbaud. It's called Raiser's Edge, and is a pretty powerfull database application for fundraising non-profits. The work is challenging, the pay is pretty good, and the people are great.

I got married in summer of 2000, but was divorced in fall of 2002. It's not a simple story, and if you want to hear it, you'll have to buy me a beer sometime. Suffice it to say I made many mistakes, and have learned from most of them.  I'm now dating a girl named Becky, and you can see a picture or two of her on my picture page.  She's from Detroit, but moved here a couple years ago.  A fellow Yankee...

Other than that, I play baseball in the MABL for the Charleston Reds, Soccer for three teams, and my band has begun playing out again. We're called the Defilers, and play a combination of Rockabilly, punk, and country. You'll have to catch us some time.

I'll try to keep this site updated as things happen. Check back often to see what messes I've made...

The Defilers Are Back...

That's right, after a year long layoff, my rockabilly/greaser punk band The Defilers has resurfaced, and have two successful shows under our belts.  We played both gigs at Johnny Ola's Anchor Cafe in West Ashley.  It's a new bar that opened around the corner from our apartment, and Mike and I have been hanging out there a lot.  The best barkeeps around, and they have built a good crowd, and have had good local music every weekend.  You can see pics on my photos page from the first show...pics from the second show coming soon.

Right now the band is working on writing more originals (we had 2 new ones by the second show, and several more on the way), and we are hoping to hit the studio in the next couple months to lay down a full length disc.  We're currently looking to book out of town gigs with rockabilly bands from the southeast, as well as bring those bands to Charleston.  We've got the start of a scene here, and hopefully we can give it a kick.

Our website will be up and running soon...starting it today...so we'll let you know what's going on, and when we're playing next.  Check back often.
